100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism: The special position of Public Security journalism

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, the Ministry of Public Security solemnly honored outstanding journalists. The event was an opportunity to reaffirm the core requirement: the People's Public Security press must be "both red and professional", truly "the secretary of the times" and "the gatekeeper of the people".

On the evening of June 20, 2025, the Ministry of Public Security solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). The event also honored outstanding journalists in the People's Public Security Force (PPP), with the participation of General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security, along with many senior leaders and more than 300 journalists.

At the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized the core requirements for the CAND press team: they must be both "red" (firm in ideology), "professional" (good at work), and truly be "secretaries of the times". He also suggested strengthening coordination between the press inside and outside the CAND force.

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that over the past 100 years, the Vietnamese revolutionary press, including the CAND press, has made great contributions to the revolutionary cause, building and defending the Fatherland. He emphasized the role of "pen and paper" as "sharp weapons" in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting corruption and negativity, and refuting erroneous and hostile views.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong attended the ceremony.

In the context of complicated developments in the world and regional security situation, the Minister requested the CAND press to continue to promote its core role in information and propaganda, promptly reflecting the people's legitimate thoughts and aspirations regarding the work of protecting security and order.

To achieve this goal, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested press agencies from central to local levels and the CAND press force to focus on promoting the achievements and good people and good deeds in the police force. In particular, it is necessary to focus on reflecting the results of implementing the Party's major policies according to the "four pillars" stated in the Politburo's Resolutions.

He especially emphasized the need to build a team of CAND journalists who are truly "secretaries of the times" and "gatekeepers of the people", as desired by General Secretary To Lam.

Minister Luong Tam Quang believes that with intelligence, talent, affection and responsibility, the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and the CAND press in particular will join hands, be unanimous, and strive to continue making important contributions to the cause of building and protecting the socialist Fatherland, especially in the work of protecting security and order.
