Nguyen Ai Quoc - The Great Founder
It is impossible not to mention President Ho Chi Minh - He is the greatest journalist, the one who laid the foundation and directly led the Vietnamese revolutionary press. From Thanh Nien Newspaper, Cong Nong Newspaper, Linh Kach Menh Newspaper, to Viet Nam Doc Lap Newspaper, Cuu Quoc Newspaper, he directly held the pen, directed the content and methods of journalism, turning journalism into a sharp weapon of the revolution. With a concise, succinct, easy-to-understand, easy-to-remember writing style, he conveyed profound revolutionary thoughts to the masses, arousing patriotism and the will to fight. Each of his articles is an epic, a call to arms, which has been and is illuminating the development path of the Vietnamese revolutionary press.
During his 79 springs, President Ho Chi Minh spent more than 50 years as a journalist, with more than 170 pen names and wrote over 2,000 articles, from when he was a poor worker in his twenties in the middle of splendid Paris until he becamePresident of the country . President Ho Chi Minh's journalism career always accompanied and was closely associated with his great revolutionary career, all aimed at liberating the nation, liberating society, and liberating people.
Soldiers on the ideological front
In the turbulent flow of history, many talented and resilient journalists have emerged, turning their pens into sharp weapons. Tran Huy Lieu was one of the Party's pioneering journalists, and was the editor-in-chief of many revolutionary newspapers, such as Lao Kho Newspaper and Dau Tranh Newspaper. He was a man with a sharp mind and a strong pen, and was arrested and imprisoned by the enemy many times, but he still steadfastly maintained his revolutionary will, continuing to contribute to the country's journalism after the country's independence.
Huynh Thuc Khang, with his ardent patriotism, used his pen to fight for national independence, freedom and democracy. He was the editor-in-chief of the Tiếng Dân newspaper - a newspaper with great influence in the patriotic movement in the early 20th century. President Ho Chi Minh's invitation to him to be Acting President of the Government in the early period of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam showed the Party and State's respect for his contributions, including his contributions in the field of journalism.
Ha Huy Tap was also an excellent revolutionary journalist. As a leader during the Party's founding period, comrade Ha Huy Tap was not only an excellent leader but also a theorist of our Party. He was assigned by the Party to be the Editor-in-Chief of the Bolshevik Magazine. When he returned to the country, as the Party's General Secretary, he founded and directly led many newspapers, such as: L'Avant - Grande, Le Peuple, Kich bong... with many different pen names.
Generation of resistance journalists
During the two long resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, the revolutionary journalists did not fear hardships and dangers, fighting alongside soldiers and people on all battlefields. Journalist Thep Moi (real name Ha Van Loc, born in 1925, hometown Quang An, Tay Ho district, Hanoi), he participated in revolutionary activities before 1945. He was a great journalist and writer of the revolutionary press. With his profound and sharp political commentaries, he contributed to orienting public opinion and encouraging the fighting spirit of our army and people.
We cannot fail to mention the journalists and martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives on the battlefield, such as Tran Kim Xuyen, Editor-in-Chief of the National Salvation Newspaper, who died in 1947 in Hanoi. These are shining symbols of the spirit of self-sacrifice for the Fatherland and for the cause of revolutionary journalism.
Former General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong
In the development of Vietnam's revolutionary press, we also have shining examples of Party and State leaders who have demonstrated their roles as great journalists and thinkers. A typical example is the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Before taking on the lofty responsibility of the head of the Party, the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a long time of attachment and maturity in the journalism environment. He worked at the Communist Magazine, holding many important positions, from researcher, editor, then Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Editor-in-Chief.
The General Secretary's articles and speeches always demonstrate theoretical depth, high fighting spirit and especially steadfastness in protecting the Party's ideological foundation. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of Party building and rectification, preventing and combating corruption and negativity - core issues consistently expressed in his journalistic works and research works. His writing style is simple and sincere but contains profound philosophies and has strong persuasive power. He is an outstanding leader and an example of an exemplary Party journalist, always maintaining ethics, courage and absolute loyalty to revolutionary ideals.
100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism is a journey full of challenges and glory, built with the blood, sweat and intelligence of many generations of journalists. Great portraits, steel pens, and soldiers on the ideological front have left a deep mark in the history of the nation and in the hearts of the public. The 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism Day is an opportunity for us to pay tribute to the great contributions of previous generations. At the same time, it is an opportunity for today's journalists to be proud and more deeply aware of their responsibilities, continue to promote glorious traditions, constantly train political qualities, improve professional qualifications, and contribute to building an increasingly strong Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, worthy of the trust of the Party and the People. |
