Vietnam's export growth to Germany in the first half of the year was significantly contributed by coffee, with exports of this item reaching over 824.85 million USD, up 113% and accounting for about 17.4% of Vietnam's exports to the German market. Vietnam's coffee exports to Germany increased sharply in the context of Vietnam's coffee exports reaching a record high turnover when the average export price of Vietnam's coffee was high, reaching over 5,700 USD/ton, up more than 59% over the same period last year. Notably, Germany was Vietnam's largest coffee consumer market in the past 6 months, accounting for 16.3%; followed by Italy (7.9%) and Spain (7.4%). Vietnam is also Germany's second largest coffee supplier, just behind Brazil.
In addition, many other items also achieved good growth such as exports of computers, electronic products and components reaching over 551.85 million USD, up 30%; seafood exports reaching over 100.5 million USD, up 6%; cashew nuts reaching 79.6 million USD, up 25%; pepper reaching over 75.44 million USD, up 57%; vegetables and fruits reaching over 39.79 million USD, up 24%, machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching over 701.62 million USD, up 19%. Particularly, the growth of traditional export items such as textiles (over 446.11 million USD, up 22%), footwear (379.55 million USD, up 2%) was recorded.
On the other hand, import turnover from Germany also increased by 7.4%, focusing on items such as machinery, equipment and spare parts reaching over 688.04 million USD, up 12%; pharmaceuticals reaching over 225.50 million USD, up 38%; computers, electronic products and components reaching 91.23 million USD, up 25%...
With the above trade turnover, Germany is currently Vietnam's 2nd largest trade partner in the EU and Vietnam's 12th largest trade partner in the world./ .
