In Phase XXIV, 2 specialized teams searched and collected a total of 81 martyrs' remains. Of these, 76 were found in Cambodia (1 set had information identified); 5 were collected domestically by Team K93 (1 set had information identified). All martyrs' remains were found at a depth of more than 1m below ground, with remains and many accompanying relics, such as: Rubber, buttons from Vietnamese soldiers' shirts...
The martyrs found had died more than half a century ago. In the harsh weather and climate conditions of your country, the remains and relics were greatly affected. Therefore, the collection of biological samples was carried out very carefully.
All unidentified remains were sampled sufficiently this time to ensure DNA testing. The storage and preservation of martyrs' DNA samples at the Martyrs' DNA Bank nationwide is important in searching for and comparing DNA samples of martyrs' relatives, helping to identify martyrs and bring them back to their homeland and family.
