Petrovietnam strengthens development cooperation with localities

With strong financial potential and advanced science and technology foundation along with a team of highly qualified managers and technical experts, Petrovietnam currently owns a large-scale business ecosystem, including many units and member companies operating and providing products and solutions in 3 core pillars; including: Energy - Industry - Services. In the spirit of Conclusion 76 of the Politburo, in the coming time, Petrovietnam will deploy the construction and formation of energy centers integrating the traditional oil and gas value chain with invested infrastructure and new energy sources.

Ha Tinh province is a key locality in the North Central region, possessing a strategic location with more than 137km of coastline, being the gateway to the East-West economic corridor, having the deep-water port of Vung Ang - Cau Treo and being an important traffic hub connecting Vietnam with Laos - Thailand.

Petrovietnam's assessment and operational practices show that Ha Tinh province, especially the Vung Ang area, has the conditions to form an integrated energy industrial center. In addition, there is potential for developing integrated energy, including electricity, renewable energy, petrochemical industry and specialized technical services. At the same time, expanding the Group's production and business activities in Ha Tinh.

On that basis, Petrovietnam and Ha Tinh province agreed to sign a cooperation agreement as a basis for promoting development in the coming period. In particular, focusing on promoting research, development and implementation of investment projects in line with the strategic development goals of the Group and its member units. Continuing to effectively manage, operate and organize production and business activities of projects that have been and are being implemented in the province.

In addition, Petrovietnam will coordinate with Ha Tinh province to research, survey and implement the LNG power plant investment project, the Vung Ang LNG warehouse project and the Power Industry Operation and Maintenance Service Center. Petrovietnam commits to accompany the province to effectively exploit the available potential and advantages, serving the socio-economic development goals of the locality as well as ensuring national energy security.

Open up many new opportunities and potentials

Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group Le Manh Hung emphasized that the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Petrovietnam and Ha Tinh province took place at a special time when the Group is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

After half a century of construction and development, Petrovietnam has become the largest economic group in the country, ranked 11th among the largest enterprises in Southeast Asia with assets of over 1 million billion VND and equity of over 530,000 billion VND.

In 2024, Petrovietnam will surpass the revenue milestone of over 1 million billion VND, making an important contribution to the country's "5 An": energy security, economic security, food security, national defense security and social security.

In the coming time, Petrovietnam leaders hope that the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, departments, and people of Ha Tinh province will continue to support the Group and its member units in the process of implementing the contents of the cooperation agreement, creating favorable conditions for Petrovietnam and its member units to research and effectively implement investment projects in the province, in order to successfully implement Petrovietnam's development strategy in the coming period.

On behalf of the leaders of Ha Tinh province, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Linh affirmed that the development of Petrovietnam in recent times has made important contributions to the development of the country in general and Ha Tinh province in particular.

The signing of the cooperation agreement between Petrovietnam and Ha Tinh province will open up opportunities to implement socio-economic development projects in the province, exploiting all the advantages and potentials of Ha Tinh province as well as Petrovietnam and its member units; at the same time, it is committed to creating all favorable conditions for Petrovietnam and its member units to effectively implement investment projects in the province.
