The Prime Minister expressed his emotion at the tireless efforts of officers and soldiers of teams K90, K91, K92 (Military Region 9) in searching, collecting, and repatriating martyrs' remains over the past time.

The Prime Minister said that the painful thing is that after the war, our country still had many bombs and mines, so the work of searching for the remains of martyrs was extremely difficult, arduous and costly, many officers and soldiers were injured, suffered from serious illnesses, and even died. Therefore, this is a job not only with responsibility but also with the heart, affection and morality of "drinking water, remembering its source" of the nation.
The Prime Minister said that since 2001, forces have searched for and collected more than 11,500 martyrs' remains, including 8,180 in Cambodia. In the country alone, search teams have collected 3,345 martyrs' remains, with 264 identified and handed over to localities for burial. Currently, the country has more than 1.2 million martyrs, of which more than 300,000 have not yet been fully identified, and 175,000 have not yet identified their place of death. The country has about 652,000 wounded soldiers, 198,000 sick soldiers, and more than 132,000 heroic Vietnamese mothers.

Continuing to affirm that the Party and State pay special attention to the search and collection of martyrs' remains, the Prime Minister said that this is a profound gratitude to the outstanding children who sacrificed for the Fatherland, demonstrating the traditional morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", "repaying gratitude and repaying kindness" of our nation. This is a work of special importance, deeply humane, expressing deep gratitude and appreciation for the heroic sacrifices of heroes and martyrs for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the noble international duty, for peace, stability and development.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Party and State will continue to do their utmost, mobilizing the entire political system and society to more effectively carry out the work of searching, gathering and identifying martyrs, so that no martyr is forgotten, no martyr's family has to wait in vain. We must do it with all our capacity, heart and affection, to bring joy to the martyrs' families, to the people, so that the country will forever exist and develop.

The Prime Minister requested Party committees, authorities, and Steering Committees 515 at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State's guidelines and policies; coordinate synchronously, mobilize the entire political system and society to participate in the work of searching, gathering, and identifying martyrs. Promote the application of digital technology, build a database of martyrs and martyrs' graves, connect information, codes, and combat units to serve identity verification.
The Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of National Defense to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors to strengthen international cooperation, especially with Cambodia, to facilitate the search and collection work. In addition, it is necessary to pay more attention to the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers performing the task of searching, collecting and identifying martyrs, promptly commending and praising collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements, and continuing to spread the spirit of gratitude to martyrs.
