Dr. Cao Viet Tung, Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital, said the child was transferred to the hospital yesterday afternoon. As a patient in special circumstances, the child received special attention from doctors and medical staff.
Physically, M.'s health is stable, with only minor external injuries. But what doctors are particularly concerned about is her psychological condition. Her family has not yet been informed of her condition.
Doctor Tung said that the doctors will continue to monitor the child's health and especially his psychological state in the next 2-3 days. At the same time, they have completed the necessary procedures to support a full exemption of hospital fees, as well as plan for long-term psychological monitoring of the patient.
M. is currently placed in a well-ventilated treatment room, receiving close care from the hospital's medical team and his relatives. Meals, personal items and daily living needs are fully provided by the hospital and support staff. Doctors create the best conditions for the child to be quiet, comfortable and avoid outside disturbances as much as possible.
Currently, many organizations and individuals want to visit the child immediately, but the hospital has temporarily refused to allow them to do so to help the child stabilize mentally.
What worried the doctors the most was preparing to break the bad news to the child. The child did not know that his mother and younger brother had passed away and that his father was missing.
Dr. Tung said: "We are carefully evaluating the child's psychology. The announcement will be made very carefully, with the consent of relatives and accompanied by psychological support."
With M.'s health condition, doctors assessed that she could appear, but at present she is very lonely as there is no one left in her family and her father is still missing.
"We proactively kept the child to support care and prepare mentally for the worst possible situation when the child knows the truth," said the Deputy Director of the National Children's Hospital.
