This is the feeling of many passengers when experiencing the train "Connecting Central Heritage" between Hue - Da Nang that Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (Haraco) just opened at the end of March 2024.
The special feature of this train is that it departs at beautiful times in the early morning and afternoon. With a journey of about 3 hours, through the train window, passengers can admire the beauty of the ancient and poetic Hue; can see the modern coastal city of Da Nang. Especially, admire the beautiful scenery of the majestic Hai Van pass, by the mountains, by the sea. The train also stops for 10 minutes at Lang Co station for tourists to take photos and check-in.
On the train there is a community car, decorated with images of the two cities such as the Hue royal palace or the Da Nang dragon bridge. It also serves Hue specialties and cuisine and live music performances. There is also a bookshelf to serve passengers who are passionate about reading culture.
Speaking to Giao thong Newspaper, a representative of Hue Railway Transport Branch said that with a beautiful journey, beautiful route and unique products and services on board, the Hue - Da Nang train attracts a lot of tourists to experience. Like the summer tourist season last June, the trains were often fully booked. And in the entire period since its opening until now, the average seat utilization rate is over 85%.

Mr. Huynh The Son, Deputy Head of Business Department of Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, said that along with the services provided to passengers, the railway also introduced other utilities and value-added services such as: Sticking QR codes on train carriages to collect feedback from passengers online; Installing free wifi on each train carriage; At Hue and Da Nang stations, upgrading VIP train waiting rooms...
On the Hue city side, there is a bus stop connection via Hue station, bicycle rental service via app to go to tourist destinations in the city.
After 3 months of operation, these trains have received many comments from passengers: Satisfied with the vehicles, seats, toilets and service attitude. Revenue has also grown well, averaging over 40%.
In order to attract tourists in groups, the railway is actively connecting with travel companies to include tours for domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Hue and Da Nang. Currently, the Hue Railway Transport Branch has connected with the Hue Tourism Association with 80 tourism units, the Da Nang Tourism Association with 49 tourism units; initially, there have been tourist groups experiencing the Hue - Da Nang train.
In addition, the policy study calls on travel agencies to participate in the socialization of a group of carriages on this train. The group of carriages is invested by the travel agencies themselves to upgrade the interior equipment according to their needs, self-manage the quality, products, services, ticket prices, and exploit passengers on the train.

Mr. Son also said that, along with the train "Connecting Central Heritage", in recent times, Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has promoted the organization of charter trains "connecting journeys" - connecting heritage, connecting people, serving groups of passengers with itineraries and services according to customer requirements: From departure point, destination, from organizing events, having stages, backdrops, arranging polite tables and chairs or making hand-held hashtags, even hanging and pasting banners on the outside of the train cars.
On the ship, there is a sweet and salty buffet, herbal foot bath, virtual check-in corner decoration, or music performances on the ship...
With such diverse and unique services, it has increasingly attracted passengers to travel on the "connecting journey". A typical example is the international group of more than 700 people traveling on a private train from Gia Lam station to Hanoi station in early May 2024. On the journey, passengers visited stations and historic bridges of Vietnam Railways such as Long Bien station, Long Bien bridge, Hanoi station... Or the group of passengers going to Thanh Hoa, only two seats on the Thong Nhat train journey but rented a community car with a sweet buffet, musical instrument performances...
“In the coming time, the railway will continue to promote “connecting journey” trains, and at the same time coordinate with tourism units to build products targeting the luxury customer segment…”, Mr. Son shared.
