In localities directly affected by the storm, Viettel Telecom has activated emergency response plans, including:
Reinforce telecommunications infrastructure, check broadcasting station systems. Prepare supplies, backup power sources and organize 24/7 response. Mobilize 150 technical teams ready to support affected provinces. Increase customer service staff via hotline to 1.5 times the usual number.
Proactively alert and support customers
Viettel Telecom has sent warning messages to 2.5 million customers in affected areas, instructing them on how to turn off electronic devices such as modems and TV receivers to ensure safety.
At the same time, the Corporation has also prepared nearly 6,000 km of backup fiber optic cables, 237 free battery charging points and mobile sales teams to ensure quick service recovery after the storm.
Implementing policies to support people before storm Wipha makes landfall
As of the afternoon of July 20, 2025, Viettel Telecom has issued a policy to support nearly 4 million customers in areas where typhoon Wipha is forecast to make landfall. Specifically, it is a promotion to top up cards and give away money for data usage, and introduce suitable preferential packages to support customers in maintaining smooth connections.
Viettel Telecom will continue to monitor the impact of the storm and promptly apply additional support and care policies for customers in affected areas.
