Vietnam Airlines launches "Donate Flight Miles" campaign to support surgeries for children

On March 24, Vietnam Airlines announced the launch of the "Donate Flight Miles" campaign in 2025, aiming to provide treatment opportunities for children in special circumstances.

By giving bonus miles, members contribute to bringing experts and doctors to special circumstances. Thereby, the less fortunate in Vietnam have the opportunity to access medical care, lighting up hope for a better life.

Since 2009, Vietnam Airlines has partnered with many medical organizations to support hundreds of medical professionals in performing surgeries on Vietnamese children. To date, the program has helped thousands of children undergo successful surgeries.

In 2024 alone, the "Donate Miles" campaign achieved remarkable results with 7.04 million miles donated, completed 3 months ahead of schedule.

The donated miles have helped experts and doctors successfully perform 1,300 cleft lip and palate surgeries and 50 complex maxillofacial surgeries.

At the same time, doctors screened 30,000 children for heart defects and performed surgery on 130 cases. 203 children with genital and urinary defects were examined and 46 cases underwent surgery.

This year the campaign aims to collect 10 million air miles from March 17 to December 31, to support medical and social projects.

The donated miles will be used to perform surgeries for 1,050 children with cleft lip and cleft palate; perform 90 complex maxillofacial surgeries and transfer technology to 100 Vietnamese doctors and physicians; screen and perform heart surgeries for 30,000 children; perform the 19th surgery for 40 children with genital and urinary system defects; perform 120 surgeries for airway defects and train 150 doctors and physicians; and support forest restoration and reduce CO2 emissions. Compared to 2024, the 2025 goal is to expand the scale, combining healthcare and sustainable development.

The "Donate Flight Miles" campaign is one of a series of activities demonstrating Vietnam Airlines' commitment and responsibility to the community and society.
