Vietnam Airlines opens Cam Ranh - Busan route

On the morning of June 1, Vietnam Airlines Corporation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province and related units to organize the opening ceremony of the direct flight connecting Busan (Korea) with Khanh Hoa. Attending the ceremony were leaders of Vietnam Airlines, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.

On the morning of June 1, Vietnam Airlines Corporation ( Vietnam Airlines ) coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province and related units to organize the opening ceremony of the direct flight connecting Busan (Korea) with Khanh Hoa. Attending the ceremony were leaders of Vietnam Airlines, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.

The first flight of Vietnam Airlines from Busan to Khanh Hoa carrying 186 passengers landed at Cam Ranh International Airport at 11:20 on June 1. The welcoming ceremony took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere, with many welcoming activities such as: Aviation ceremony of spraying water to welcome the plane, giving gifts to passengers, performing traditional arts and taking souvenir photos with tourists. Korean tourists were very happy to be warmly welcomed when traveling to Khanh Hoa.

Ms. Huynh Thi Tuong Van - Deputy Director of Vietnam Branch, Vietnam Airlines said: Opening the Busan - Cam Ranh route is a strategic step of Vietnam Airlines to strongly develop the international flight network in the South Central region. Vietnam Airlines operates the Busan - Cam Ranh route with Airbus A321 aircraft with a frequency of 1 flight/day. This route not only contributes to directly connecting 2 prominent coastal tourism centers of Vietnam and Korea, but also opens up great opportunities to attract Korean tourists to Khanh Hoa in particular and the South Central region in general.

The opening ceremony of the Nha Trang - Busan route not only continues to affirm Vietnam Airlines' pioneering position in promoting aviation connectivity and expanding cultural and economic exchanges between Vietnam and Korea, but is also an important part of the plan to open and restore 15 international routes in 2025. Vietnam Airlines is connecting major tourism and economic centers in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang with two key cities in Korea, Seoul and Busan. On average, the airline operates 16 flights per day between the two countries. In the first 4 months of 2025, Vietnam Airlines transported about 479,500 passengers on Vietnam - Korea routes, showing that the demand for travel, trade and tourism between the two countries is growing strongly.

South Korea is Vietnam's largest international tourist market in 2024 with about 4.5 million arrivals, accounting for about 26% of total international arrivals. In Khanh Hoa alone, South Korean visitors account for nearly 50% of total international arrivals to the locality. In the first 4 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa province welcomed more than 812,800 South Korean visitors, an increase of 6.5% over the same period last year.
