At the same time, this is also an important step in promoting economic, trade and cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Scandinavian region.”
“We hope that this new partnership with Vietnam Airlines will strengthen Scandinavian Airlines’ presence in Southeast Asia and provide passengers with more options when travelling internationally,” said Paul Verhagen, Chief Operating Officer of Scandinavian Airlines.
As the world’s most punctual airline, we are delighted to expand our network to Vietnam through Vietnam Airlines, a prestigious partner with international recognition for safety and punctuality. This agreement not only provides our passengers with more convenient international flight options, but also opens up opportunities to explore a Vietnam rich in identity with beautiful nature, unique culture and delicious cuisine."

The Nordic region is considered one of the potential markets, thanks to its stable economy, high living standards and high demand for tourism, especially in winter, when people tend to seek warm destinations rich in cultural experiences such as Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. In 2024, the number of visitors between Vietnam and Scandinavian countries will reach nearly 144 thousand, an impressive growth of 37% over the same period last year.
To meet this growing demand, Vietnam Airlines plans to open its first route to Northern Europe, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Copenhagen from December 2025, supporting the exploitation of the potential from the high-end and business travel segment in this region.
