Hamas Positively Evaluates Proposal to Resolve Gaza Situation; Houthi Continues Attacks on Ships in Red Sea Shipping Freight Rates Hit Record High Amid Red Sea Crisis

Recently, Houthi posted a video of the attack on the cargo ship Tutor in the Red Sea. The video showed that the attack hit the engine compartment near the stern, causing the ship to lose its ability to move. Then, a second attack hit the middle part of the port side of the Tutor, creating a large explosion and a column of black smoke.

The stern of the ship is seen sinking slightly at the end of the video, suggesting that the engine compartment has been flooded. A series of small explosions then occur in this area, possibly caused by Houthi forces to cause the Tutor to sink faster.

The Tutor had a crew of 22, mostly Filipinos, who were rescued by US helicopters, but one Filipino sailor is still missing.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) previously announced that the ship had been hit by a USV and an unknown projectile, believed to be an anti-ship missile. Maritime salvage companies confirmed that the Tutor had sunk, marking the second cargo ship sunk by Houthi forces since the armed group began attacking international shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden late last year. The incident was also the first time the armed group's unmanned craft had hit a target since the start of the conflict.
