UEH announces benchmark scores for 3 early admission methods

Early admission methods of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics in the 2024 regular university admission season include:

Method 3 - Admission of excellent students (PT3): the admission score is the converted score from the study results of the entire year of grade 10, grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12 with some optional criteria (international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher, winning the provincial/city excellent student award, students of specialized/gifted schools). The maximum score is 100.

Method 4 - Admission based on study process by subject combination (PT4): admission score is the average score of subject combination of grade 10, grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12 with similar criteria as above, maximum 100 points.

Method 5 - Admission based on the capacity assessment test scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University, round 1, 2024 (PT5): admission score is equal to exam score, maximum is 1,200 points.

Admission results show that the benchmark scores of 56 training programs have increased sharply compared to 2023. Specifically, in Ho Chi Minh City (school code: KSA), the PT3 benchmark scores range from 48-83, with the highest increase of 11 points for the industry.

PT4 from 49-85 points, the highest increase industry is 9 points, and PT5 from 800-995, the highest increase industry is 40 points.

The group of Talented Bachelor and ASEAN Co-op Bachelor programs is 72-73 points. This admission score range corresponds to candidates with excellent academic performance or higher, with an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS from 6.0 or TOEFL iBT from 73 points or higher, mostly students from specialized schools, excellent students at the provincial/municipal level.

In Vinh Long (KSV), the average score for PT3 and PT4 is 49 and 40, respectively, an increase of 1-8 points compared to 2023, and PT5 is 550-650, an increase of 50 points. This year, this facility attracted many candidates with excellent academic results and above to register for admission.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, the average PT3 and PT4 benchmark scores show that most candidates admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics meet three criteria: excellent students or higher; possessing an English certificate or provincial/city-level excellent student award; and belonging to specialized and gifted schools.

Notably, this year, nearly half of the admitted candidates achieved English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 73 points or higher. This is a convincing basis for the goal of training high-quality, internationally competent human resources of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
