The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to the report on the Project to Preserve and promote the value of the intangible cultural heritage of Cham pottery art in Bau Truc.

Reporting at the meeting, the leader of Ninh Phuoc district said that the People's Committee of Ninh Phuoc district has focused on directing the work of preserving and developing Bau Truc pottery village; coordinating with experienced experts to organize surveys and assess the current status of the village to coordinate with provincial departments and branches to propose programs and projects to preserve and develop Bau Truc pottery village. Accordingly, the Project on Preserving and Promoting the Value of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Cham Pottery Art in Bau Truc will develop a program to preserve Bau Truc pottery village in association with developing cultural heritage tourism and community tourism; ensuring security, order and environmental sanitation in the village area.

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

At the same time, develop a plan to effectively exploit the institutions of exhibition houses and community activity houses; orient the activities of cooperatives in craft villages appropriately; promote and encourage artisans to teach pottery techniques and skills to the younger generation. Specifically, the Project will focus on 5 main contents, including: Investing in traffic infrastructure, public works, landscapes, trade and services; implementing the planning of craft villages; organizing vocational training classes and improving skills; promoting trade and developing production and business organization models.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the contents of the Project. The Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the People's Committee of Ninh Phuoc district and the design consultant to review, research, and collect opinions from relevant units in accordance with regulations, and soon reach an agreement to complete the Project, as a basis for completing the National Action Program to protect and develop the intangible cultural heritage "Cham pottery art".
