
On July 24, Mr. Ta Van Thong - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Indonesia - visited and encouraged the Vietnam U23 team at their base in Jakarta. This is a spiritual gift for the whole team before the semi-final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament.
Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Ta Van Thong shared that despite his busy work schedule, he still closely followed the U23 Vietnam team's performance at the tournament.

The Ambassador congratulated the team on passing the group stage with the first place in Group B, and expressed his belief in the solidarity, fierce fighting spirit and serious preparation of the coaching staff as well as the players.
He also emphasized that although the Vietnamese community in Indonesia is not too large, the spirit of support from overseas Vietnamese is still very strong. The Ambassador affirmed that he will continue to be present at the stadium to support the team, considering this a way to express the affection and pride of overseas Vietnamese for the young team.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Head of Vietnam U23 Team - expressed his deep gratitude to the Ambassador and the Embassy for their timely attention and support for the team.

Mr. Tran Anh Tu said that the whole team is maintaining a high spirit of determination and has prepared thoroughly in terms of expertise to aim for the goal of reaching the finals.
According to plan, this afternoon (July 24), Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will continue to practice to perfect their tactical plans, ready for the semi-final match against U23 Philippines, taking place at 4:00 p.m. on July 25 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia.
