In this training session to prepare for the 2026 Asian U20 Women's Qualifiers, Japanese coach Okiyama Masahiko has called up a list of 29 athletes, of which only 3 new faces have been added.
With the help of his assistants in the coaching staff, Coach Okiyama Masahiko said he will work specifically with the players to learn from the shortcomings and mistakes revealed at the recent Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship. The Japanese coach also hopes that through the upcoming training trip in his homeland, with friendly matches against quality opponents, the Vietnamese U20 women's players will be able to hone their skills and gain experience before entering the official tournament.
Previously, the Vietnamese U20 women's players also participated together in the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Women's Championship held in Ho Chi Minh City last June. Although they did not win the championship cup in the regional arena, the young Vietnamese women's football representative still showed progress and was one of the bright candidates in the tournament.
