Vietnam U.23 young stars are determined
At the beginning of the training session, Coach Kim Sang-sik divided the U.23 Vietnam team into two groups. He let his players practice attacking from the home field. The formation used was still three central defenders, who could flexibly switch between 3-4-3, 3-5-2 and 5-3-2. The Korean strategist set high demands during the training session, often stopping the ball when a player made a mistake, even if it was a small mistake. He wanted the players to pass with just enough force and high accuracy so that the receiver could handle the ball more easily. Therefore, all players had to be extremely focused. In many situations, he personally stood up to receive the ball and demonstrated passing in front of his players.
In this exercise, only 2 players were absent, goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien and midfielder Khuat Van Khang. They practiced separately, only slightly relaxing to recover. These are 2 key players of HAGL and The Cong Viettel , playing a lot in V-League 2024-2025. Most likely, they will still play the role of pillars of the U.23 Vietnam team in the upcoming tournament in Indonesia.

Forge attacks from the lines
After that, the U.23 Vietnam team was divided into 3 groups to compete 9v9 on half of the field. This is an exercise to help players practice both attacking ability, speed transition, and physical strength due to having to move continuously. Thai Son and his teammates were required to move continuously, actively swapping positions to create diversity. Therefore, defensive players such as central defender Dang Tuan Phong (The Cong Viettel), Pham Ly Duc (HAGL), Nguyen Hieu Minh (PVF-CAND) or defender Nguyen Hong Phuc (The Cong Viettel) also made their mark. The two overseas Vietnamese players Viktor Le ( Ha Tinh Club) and Bui Alex (Bohemians 2905) are also getting in sync with their teammates.
At the end of the session, Coach Kim Sang-sik told the players to be determined to perform in the two practice matches with the U.23 Chinese Taipei team (on July 2 and 4). In addition, he especially reminded his students to take care of themselves, eat and rest properly to maintain the best physical condition.
