Vietnam women's team 'unrivaled' in qualifying round, wins ticket to 2026 Asian finals

On the evening of July 5, the Vietnamese women's team defeated Guam 4-0 in the final match of Group E of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship qualifiers, thereby winning a ticket to the final round in Australia.

Although the Vietnamese women's team dominated the match and played comfortably, coach Mai Duc Chung's team made many mistakes in defense. Fortunately, the Guam women's team was too weak to take advantage of the situation. However, the Vietnamese team needs to learn from their mistakes before entering the next tournaments.

The Vietnamese women's team finished the qualifying round of Group E of the Asian Women's Football Championship with a perfect record, scoring 17 goals and conceding none. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team won tickets to the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship with the goal of winning tickets to the 2027 World Cup.
