MU negotiates transfer with Barca

MU is preparing for a volatile 2025 summer transfer window as it wants to spend big to reform its squad, while also being forced to sell players to balance its finances.

After successfully recruiting Matheus Cunha from Wolves, the "Red Devils" are negotiating to buy Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. Along with the new contracts, Old Trafford will witness many stars leaving, most notably Marcus Rashford.

According to Foot Mercato , MU will sit down at the negotiating table with Barcelona in the next few days to discuss Rashford's future. This is considered Barca's plan B, after they failed in their attempt to recruit Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.

Barca are likely to propose a loan deal with a buyout clause, a solution that suits their financial situation. For MU, this option will help them reduce their wage bill of nearly 17 million pounds/season and earn a loan fee.

Rashford is determined to join Camp Nou. The English striker is willing to do everything to make the deal successful, even agreeing to take a pay cut - something he refused when Aston Villa asked to join him on loan last season.

Rashford has been in fine form, making 10 appearances in 17 games, but a hamstring injury has hindered his progress. Villa has a buyout clause of around £40m but has refused to activate it, partly because Rashford does not want to take a cut on his £325,000-a-week wages.

In addition, Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho all want to find new destinations. MU faces a difficult problem when it comes to finding suitable partners for these players.
