University in Ho Chi Minh City made mistakes that caused dozens of candidates to pass and fail.

After reviewing the admission data, the University of Finance and Marketing discovered errors that led to dozens of candidates passing the entrance exam failing, and failing candidates passing the entrance exam, so the school had to adjust the results of the 2025 regular university admission exam.

The University of Finance and Marketing has just announced the results of reviewing and handling errors in processing admission data based on high school academic results (transcripts) in 2025.

Errors due to the school's admissions process

According to Dr. Le Trung Dao - Vice Principal of the University of Finance and Marketing, after announcing the benchmark scores, the school reviewed and discovered errors in the process of considering high school transcripts for regular university admission in 2025.

The school said that during the process of implementing regular university admissions, after completing the conversion of scores from English certificates to English subject scores in the admission subject group according to the regulations in the school's admission information, there was an error in integrating data for admission.

This has led to some cases where candidates were scored incorrectly, affecting their admission results. Accordingly, the scores of 75 candidates were calculated incorrectly, leading to the situation where candidates passed and failed or vice versa.

"This error did not originate from the general enrollment support system deployed by the Ministry of Education and Training , but was due to data processing within the school's enrollment processing procedures," the school representative admitted.

School apologizes to candidates

According to Mr. Dao, after reviewing all the admission data, the school compared the wishes of each candidate and implemented specific handling steps: sending a detailed report and list of candidates with errors to the Department of Higher Education , Ministry of Education and Training to ask for opinions and coordinate handling.

The school has worked with relevant parties to provide maximum support to candidates, specifically ensuring the rights of candidates while complying with the regulations and rules of the ministry.

The school also notified 33 candidates about the addition and confirmation of admission according to the new admission wishes to the school for cases of failed candidates who passed.

For candidates who passed but failed, the school directly contacted and apologized to 42 candidates and announced the adjusted admission results according to the next consecutive admission wishes.

The school has sent official dispatches to the universities that candidates wish to enroll in to support and facilitate candidates to enroll according to their new admission wishes.

Report to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training the list of candidates whose admission results have been adjusted to update the general admission support system.

"The school ensures maximum benefits for candidates in the admission process, is open, transparent, and closely coordinates with the Department of Higher Education in supervising this process. The school will refund the tuition and fees (if any) paid to the successful candidates. We hope to receive sympathy and sharing from parents and candidates affected by this incident," said Mr. Dao.
