On September 10, 1945, the Viet Minh Cadre School - the predecessor of Le Duan Political School - was officially established. Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Le Duan Political School has changed its name many times, adjusted its functions and tasks to suit the requirements of each period.
Regardless of the stage, the collective of cadres, lecturers and students always maintain the revolutionary spirit, practice political theory, and contribute to the development of the local revolutionary movement.
Over the past years, the Provincial Party Committee has continued to pay close attention to and closely direct the training and development of cadres. Party committees, local authorities, agencies and units have paid attention to coordinating and creating conditions for cadres to participate in political, professional and technical training courses associated with planning, arrangement and use.

As of May 2025, the total number of staff and employees of the school is 39, of which 96.3% have master's and doctoral degrees; 100% of lecturers have certificates of active teaching methods, certificates of training in Marxist-Leninist classics, and Ho Chi Minh's ideology. In addition, the school always focuses on building a clean and strong party organization and mass organizations.
Regarding training and fostering for cadres in the two provinces of Salavan and Savannakhet, Laos, up to now, the school has trained 14 intermediate courses in political theory (formerly intermediate courses in political theory - administration) for 629 students, and 1 course in leadership and management skills with 39 students.
This is an important political task that the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos trust and entrust to Quang Tri province to strengthen solidarity, special friendship and cooperation between border provinces in particular and the two countries in general.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai congratulated and commended the achievements of Le Duan Political School in recent times.
At the same time, the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and all lecturers, officials, and employees of the school in the coming time need to focus on implementing a number of key tasks, first of all, implementing the project to arrange provincial administrative units and the project to establish a new Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee. Le Duan Political School of Quang Tri province will merge with Quang Binh Provincial Political School to form Le Duan Political School of the new Quang Tri province. Therefore, the leaders of the two schools need to complete the merger project and report to the competent authority for approval.
Focus on implementing well the newly assigned functions and tasks in the spirit of ensuring continuous and smooth operations, without affecting training, fostering and scientific research. Focus on building a team of dynamic, creative, professionally qualified, proficient cadres, lecturers and civil servants, exemplary in ethics and knowledge.

It is necessary to closely follow the political tasks of the new province, to build development directions and roadmaps and focus on researching, adjusting, supplementing and implementing the Project "Overall development of Le Duan Political School to 2030, with a vision to 2045".
Continue to implement the cooperation agreement between Quang Tri province and Salavan, Savannakhet, and Kham Muon provinces for the period 2023 - 2025. In which, focus on training cadres in political theory and fostering state administrative knowledge for Lao cadres.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai hopes that the new Le Duan Political School of Quang Tri province will continue to develop strongly, worthy of the requirements and tasks in the new period, proudly bearing the name of General Secretary Le Duan - an outstanding son of the heroic homeland of Quang Tri.
