China calls on Israel to immediately end military actions

At a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, Chinese Ambassador Fu Tong called on Israel to immediately end military activities against Iran.

According to Xinhua News Agency, after Israel conducted large-scale attacks on many targets in Iran on June 13, China condemned Israel's actions as violating Iran's sovereignty , security and territorial integrity.

"China opposes the escalation of tensions and the expansion of conflicts, and is extremely concerned about the serious consequences that may result from Israel's actions. The sudden escalation in the region is not in anyone's interests. We urge Israel to immediately stop all adventurous military actions and avoid further escalation of tensions," the Chinese ambassador to the United Nations stressed.

China calls on all relevant parties to abide by the UN Charter and international law, resolve disputes through political and diplomatic means, and jointly maintain regional peace and stability, he added.

China also raised concerns about the potential negative impact of current developments on diplomatic negotiations related to the Iran nuclear issue.

"Countries that have significant influence on Israel should play a more constructive role. The Security Council should use all means provided under the UN Charter to ensure the implementation of relevant resolutions and fulfill its role in maintaining regional peace and security," said Mr. Pho Thong.
