Dismantling a fake jam factory in Vinh Phuc, seizing nearly 1,000 boxes

On the evening of January 12, the General Department of Market Management (Ministry of Industry and Trade) informed about the discovery of a household producing and trading in large quantities of fake Tet jam in Vinh Phuc province.

Authorities discovered a business selling a large quantity of fake jam in Tho Tang Town, Vinh Tuong District, Vinh Phuc Province.

Previously, on the afternoon of January 11, Market Management Team No. 5 and Market Management Team No. 2 (Market Management Department of Vinh Phuc province) coordinated with the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team to fight against smuggling and trade fraud of Vinh Phuc province, Vinh Phuc Provincial Police to suddenly inspect Nguyen Van Loi business establishment, at Phuong Vien residential group, Tho Tang town, Vinh Tuong district.

Through inspection, the authorities determined that this facility is owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, residing in Vinh Phuc province. When the interdisciplinary team came to inspect, the facility had packaged nearly 1,000 boxes of finished Tet jam, the product label stated: "Huong Lap confectionery production facility, lane 15, Hung Vuong street, Tich Son ward, Vinh Yen city, Vinh Phuc", with diverse ingredients, including: peanut jam, pumpkin jam, apple jam, carrot jam, coconut jam...

Finished fake jam has been packaged, waiting to be put on the market for consumption.

In addition, authorities discovered 20 more boxes of finished jams without product labels; 104 packages containing jams and candies without product labels, not yet boxed, and 1,295 product labels used to stick on finished jam boxes.

At the time of inspection, the owner of this facility could not present a business registration certificate, nor could he present invoices or documents proving the origin of the production materials. The finished jam products showed signs of counterfeit labels and packaging.

On January 12, the Market Management Department of Vinh Phuc province worked with the owner of Huong Lap Confectionery Production Facility. The representative of this facility affirmed that all Tet jams and goods at Mr. Nguyen Van Loi's business facility were not produced by Huong Lap. Huong Lap Confectionery Production Facility does not authorize or allow any organization or individual to produce or package Tet jams under the Huong Lap brand. Accordingly, all Tet jam products at Mr. Nguyen Van Loi's business facility are counterfeit goods.

Market Management Team No. 5 has decided to temporarily detain all fake Tet jam goods and all raw materials and materials used to produce and package Tet jam to continue investigating, verifying and handling according to the provisions of law.
