On September 23, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, received Mr. Takahashi, Deputy Mayor of Osaka City (Japan) for a courtesy visit on the occasion of attending the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue and the 5th Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum in 2024.
At the meeting, Mr. Takahashi thanked the Ho Chi Minh City government for taking the time to receive the delegation, creating conditions for Osaka City to have the opportunity to participate in this series of events. In 2025, Osaka City plans to organize the international exhibition Expo 2025 and hopes that Ho Chi Minh City leaders will take the time to attend Osaka City's activities. During the Expo 2025 exhibition, there are expected to be activities introducing carbon neutral technologies, moving towards building a carbon neutral society. This is also a major concern of Ho Chi Minh City and hopes that city representatives will come to witness the achievements of new technologies in building a carbon-free society.
Mr. Takahashi commented that Ho Chi Minh City is developing more and more, the youth and young labor force of Ho Chi Minh City is a very valuable resource. Therefore, in the future, linking human resource development between the two cities is a must.
For his part, Comrade Vo Van Hoan believes that the relationship between the two sides will certainly develop stably and sustainably in the future. Comrade Vo Van Hoan said that he will work with the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to concretize action plans for early implementation; at the same time, he agreed to be ready to participate in Expo 2025 with a strong business force; have a Ho Chi Minh City exhibition booth according to the plan of both promoting trade and investment, and combining other activities to promote Ho Chi Minh City in Osaka.
