Ho Chi Minh City celebrates Hungarian National Day, promotes educational cooperation and innovation

On August 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HCMC) and the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association of HCMC held a meeting to celebrate Hungary's National Day. Speeches at the event affirmed that this is not only an occasion to honor history but also an opportunity to promote educational cooperation, innovation and expand new areas of cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary.

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association Le Minh Triet emphasized the special significance of August 20 in the history of Hungary, and at the same time, in Vietnam, this celebration also contributes to strengthening the strong friendship between the people of the two countries. He said that 2025 is an important milestone when Vietnam and Hungary celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, affirming that cooperation between the two countries is increasingly developing in many fields: politics , economy, education, culture and people-to-people diplomacy.

Mr. Le Minh Triet expressed his confidence in new cooperation opportunities, especially in the fields of innovation, green economy and digital transformation. He also emphasized that educational cooperation is a bright spot in bilateral relations, as Hungary annually provides 200 scholarships for Vietnamese students, demonstrating its interest in the young generation, important bridges for the future.

According to the Hungarian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Lehocz Gabor, the National Day of August 20 laid the foundation for the development of the independent Hungarian state today. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, he congratulated the achievements of the Vietnamese people, and affirmed that the Hungarian Government will continue to promote traditional relations, especially in education and training with a policy of granting full scholarships annually to Vietnamese students.

Mr. Lehocz Gabor highly appreciated the contributions of generations of Vietnamese students studying in Hungary in fostering bilateral relations, saying that thanks to them, in Asia, Vietnam is the place where people understand Hungary the most. This is an important foundation for developing cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of solidarity with traditional dance and singing performances of Vietnam and Hungary performed by members of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City.
