Russian Electronic People's Army Newspaper Officially Launched

(Chinhphu.vn) - The launch of the Russian-language People's Army Newspaper (QĐND) contributes to affirming and further enhancing the tradition of the very good friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, and is also a milestone in the history of the QĐND Newspaper.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on August 21, in Hanoi , the People's Army Newspaper launched the People's Army Newspaper Online in Russian.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Belarus in Vietnam Shloma Oleg Stanislavovich, and Counselor of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam Samir Malikli attended the ceremony.

The People's Army Newspaper is the agency of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , the voice of the armed forces and people of Vietnam, the main, multimedia media agency, orienting public opinion according to Decision No. 362/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2019 of the Prime Minister and Decision No. 5945/QD-BQP dated November 18, 2023 of the Minister of National Defense.

Along with the propaganda activities of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, military and defense activities, reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of the masses, the People's Army Newspaper is also an important foreign information channel. The People's Army Newspaper has published the People's Army Newspaper Online in English, Chinese, Lao and Khmer, contributing significantly to promoting foreign propaganda, consolidating and strengthening friendship with international friends. The launch of the People's Army Newspaper Online in Russian is part of the development roadmap of the soldier newspaper, which has been approved by superiors.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party Committee, Editorial Board and the entire People's Army Newspaper, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, thanked the attention, direction and support of the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the leaders of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and relevant agencies in the preparation for the launch of the Russian-language People's Army Electronic Newspaper.

The Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper said that with the new publication of the People's Army Newspaper in Russian, the People's Army Newspaper aims to strengthen the foreign information work of the Party and State of Vietnam in general, focusing on defense diplomacy in Russian on the People's Army Newspaper in Russian; contributing to promoting and introducing the country and people of Vietnam, and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

At the same time, it contributes to educating and raising awareness among the younger generation as well as officers and soldiers of the armed forces about the responsibility to preserve and expand the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and Russia, along with that, actively fighting against wrong views, distortions, and sabotage of solidarity and development cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

Major General Doan Xuan Bo said that in the context of diverse information and faster-than-ever information speed like today, the content conveyed to the public, especially to foreigners, needs to meet the motto of "steady, standard, easy to receive".

With that approach, the People's Army Electronic Newspaper needs to closely follow the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, strictly and creatively implement the propaganda orientation of the Editorial Board, and need to have new perspectives and approaches suitable to the current development of journalism.
