On June 9, the domestic coffee market slightly decreased, while world coffee prices on the New York and London exchanges tended to stabilize after the declines at the end of last week.
According to statistics, since the beginning of last week, domestic coffee prices have lost about VND4,500 - 5,000/kg. Compared to the beginning of 2025, the decrease has reached VND16,000 - 17,000/kg. However, compared to the same period last year, the price is still about VND7,000/kg higher.
In the world market, compared to the beginning of 2025, Robusta prices are about $500/ton lower and Arabica prices are down nearly 22 cents/lb. However, compared to the same period in 2024, current prices are still significantly higher.
Experts say that coffee prices today continue to cool down after a sharp increase in early June 2025. The domestic market is under selling pressure as prices continuously adjust, while the international market is temporarily sideways waiting for more information on weather and harvest progress in Brazil.
In the short term, coffee prices may continue to fluctuate within a narrow range if there is no clear support from global supply or USD exchange rate movements. Some experts also believe that the upcoming expiration of short-term futures contracts may create strong fluctuations in the market.
