Tien Giang is currently determined to improve the investment environment, striving for economic growth of 8% or more.

In order to promote economic growth in 2025, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province has synchronously implemented the directions of the Government and the Prime Minister such as: Official Dispatch No. 137/CD-TTg, 140/CD-TTg; Resolution No. 01, 02, 25/NQ-CP and resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council. The province issued Plan No. 22/KH-UBND dated January 17, 2025 and Plan No. 70/KH-UBND dated February 25, 2025 to specify the economic growth target of 8% or more in 2025, identifying 2025 as the year of "acceleration, breakthrough, and completion" in implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025.

Through synchronous efforts, the province aims to develop a sustainable economy, ensure social security, improve people's quality of life and create breakthroughs in attracting investment, developing industry - agriculture and services in 2025.

Accelerating public investment, boosting the provincial economy

In order to promote investment efficiency and ensure the implementation of economic growth targets in 2025, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province has directed the implementation, monitoring and urging of public investment projects in the area. The disbursement of public investment capital is considered a key task, which needs to be carried out synchronously and promptly remove difficulties for each project.

For transitional projects, the province requires accelerating construction progress, ensuring quality, conducting acceptance and capital payment to the State Treasury as soon as the volume is completed; at the same time, continuing to transfer the 2025 capital plan between investors and within each unit to speed up disbursement and avoid wasting resources.

For newly-started projects, the province directed investors to promptly complete the selection of contractors and start construction early to avoid missing opportunities; at the same time, focus on resolving problems related to site clearance, speeding up compensation and resettlement support. Tien Giang continues to use capital from the Land Development Fund to pay compensation and ensure progress.

Public investment supervision is carried out regularly, under the direct direction of the Provincial People's Committee Standing Committee, thereby promptly removing obstacles and speeding up project progress.

In response to the requirement to reorganize and consolidate the two-level local government apparatus, the Provincial People's Committee has reviewed and submitted to the Provincial People's Council for approval a list of postponed projects, and at the same time transferred capital plans to projects in need of additional funding to speed up progress.

The Provincial People's Committee has issued Decision No. 1080/QD-UBND and Plan No. 207/KH-UBND dated May 5, 2025 on the establishment of a Working Group to monitor and coordinate the transition of public investment project management during the process of restructuring the administrative apparatus. Thereby, departments, branches and localities proactively guide, review and hand over transitional projects, ensuring that the disbursement plan is not interrupted.

Localities are required to strengthen the direction of affiliated units in managing investment capital at the district level, focusing on removing obstacles and speeding up the disbursement of capital sources such as: decentralized capital from basic construction expenditures, capital collected from land use, additional lottery capital, and central budget capital supporting the national target program on new rural construction.

The province is also actively coordinating with central ministries and branches in appraising two project proposals using ODA capital: (1) Coastal road through Tien Giang connecting Long An and Ben Tre (phase 1); (2) Climate Resilience and Integrated Transformation Project for the Mekong Delta (WB11) - Tien Giang component. The province is committed to closely coordinating to remove difficulties in the investment preparation and implementation process.

Tien Giang identified 2025 as the year of "acceleration, breakthrough, and reaching the finish line" - the final year of implementing the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2025. The Provincial People's Committee issued Plan 70/KH-UBND dated February 25, 2025 to achieve a growth target of 8% or more, with synchronous and drastic groups of solutions.

Tien Giang focuses on accelerating key projects, effectively exploiting new development space, prioritizing transport infrastructure, digital transformation and green transformation. The province advocates restructuring the economy in association with renewing the growth model, improving productivity, quality and competitiveness.

The province focuses on developing high-quality human resources, especially in emerging fields, as a foundation for innovation, digital economy, green economy, and circular economy. At the same time, economic development is in harmony with culture and society, building advanced new rural areas, and improving people's lives.

Tien Giang promotes administrative reform, improves the investment environment, enhances decentralization, tightens discipline, and promotes the responsibility of leaders. At the same time, promotes propaganda work, creates social consensus, and mobilizes combined strength for development.

With the highest determination, the province strives to achieve important targets in 2025: economic growth of 8% or more; total export turnover of 7 billion USD; total social investment capital of about 57,350 billion VND; disbursement of 100% of assigned public investment capital. This is an important foundation for Tien Giang to continue to grow strongly, contributing positively to the overall development of the Mekong Delta region and the whole country.
