Before the merger, Binh Thuan province was approved by the Prime Minister to include in the development plan 9 industrial parks with a total area of about 3,000 hectares, most of which are located along the coast and National Highway 1A. Including 1 industrial park specializing in titanium processing (Song Binh Industrial Park) and 8 multi-industry industrial parks: Phan Thiet phase 1, Phan Thiet phase 2, Ham Kiem I, Ham Kiem II, Tuy Phong, Tan Duc, Son My 1, Son My 2). Up to now, 7 industrial parks have been built by investors with an area of nearly 1,400 hectares, gradually attracting and being ready to receive more secondary projects into the industrial parks.

In recent times, the locality has identified the growth drivers of the industrial parks here as processing - manufacturing industry, supporting industry, agricultural - forestry - fishery processing, trade - services and logistics associated with seaport exploitation activities. Along with that, technical infrastructure is prepared for a number of coastal industrial parks to invite large-scale electricity projects, continue to develop and form new industrial parks and economic zones... In fact, after the merger, this place not only concentrates the most industrial parks in the new Lam Dong province but also possesses the potential and advantages in attracting industrial projects thanks to a relatively complete transportation system. For example, there is a North - South expressway consisting of 3 sections Cam Lam - Vinh Hao, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay put into operation from mid-2023. While Vinh Tan International Port has been put into operation and Phan Thiet Airport is under construction, in the future there will be an additional North - South high-speed railway passing through the area.

Up to now, the industrial parks here have attracted 93 projects (including 66 domestic investment projects, 27 foreign investment projects) with a total registered capital of more than 17,415 billion VND and 328.41 million USD, contributing to creating jobs for about 11,000 workers... That does not include 3 large-scale projects: Son My I BOT Thermal Power Plant, Son My II Thermal Power Plant, LNG Gas Port Warehouse with a total registered capital of about 5.4 billion USD that has been approved by authorized authorities for investment in Son My 1 Industrial Park.

Through the development of industrial parks, the locality has also gradually built a chain of industry and field links such as: Footwear raw materials industry (Right Rich, Thanh Vuong projects), mechanical assembly production (Screws of all kinds, AME Aluminum projects), titanium processing (Superfine Zircon, Titanium slag, TiO2 Pigment...), seafood processing (TransPacific, Hai Trieu, HaiWang projects...). Especially for the processing and manufacturing industry, recently the Neotek Vietnam Industrial Factory project with a total investment of 88 million USD has started construction at Ham Kiem II Industrial Park. It is expected that when put into operation, the factory will create jobs for 1,000 workers specialized in the production of auto brake pads for export to the US...

According to the orientation to 2030, the locality will focus on investing in completing 9 existing industrial parks and continue to consider expanding and developing 6 new industrial parks with a scale of approximately 4,900 hectares. At the same time, it is proposed to add 6 industrial parks with an area of 3,440 hectares to the planning with a vision to 2050, aiming to form a chain of industrial parks to promote geographical advantages. In addition, in this area, it is also studying the formation of a coastal economic zone with a scale of about 27,000 hectares, expected to prioritize calling for large projects on seaports and seaport services, energy, LNG electricity, processing and manufacturing industry, etc.

It is known that currently, the industrial parks in the coastal areas of Lam Dong province still have a large land fund, competitive rental prices and abundant labor resources. Therefore, this place is still an attractive destination for strategic investors and localities are ready to "catch the wave" of project relocation from export processing zones and industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City to exploit potential and strong fields.
