Every year, the Office of Prosecution, Investigation and Trial of Security and Drug Cases (Office 1) handles nearly 200 cases out of 1,000 drug cases in the province. The Office proactively proposes solutions to link prosecution with investigation activities; strengthens inspection and evaluation of the progress and results of the performance of officers and prosecutors; and focuses on improving the professional qualifications and skills of the staff.
Actively coordinate from the time of receiving and handling information about crimes to the stage of initiating, investigating, prosecuting and trying criminal cases on drugs. Pay attention to collecting and transforming evidence from the stage of receiving and handling information about crimes; enhance responsibility in classifying subjects to be handled. Ensure that cases and incidents are resolved on schedule and in accordance with the law.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Vinh, Head of Division 1, Provincial People's Procuracy, said: Since the beginning of the year, the division has conducted 8 direct inspections of the handling of denunciations, reports of crimes and recommendations for prosecution at investigation agencies and border posts. The rate of people arrested and detained for criminal cases transferred for prosecution reached 100%; exercising the right to prosecute and inspect the handling of criminal cases from the time of initiating the case; accepting to investigate 106 cases, 186 defendants; inspecting and trying 44 cases, 94 defendants. The cases brought to trial by the Provincial People's Court are all in accordance with regulations, without cases where the Procuracy prosecutes and the Court declares the defendant not guilty.
In addition, the department promotes the application of information technology and digital transformation in professional work, such as: Digitizing files of 47/56 cases; reporting cases with mind maps of 12 cases, presenting evidence at court sessions of 2 cases. Responding to the Action Month on Drugs, the department coordinated with the Provincial People's Court to organize 4 experience-sharing sessions combined with presenting documents and evidence in images, contributing to accumulating experience, improving prosecutors' skills in practicing the right to prosecute and supervise trials more professionally and effectively.

Directly participating in the practice of prosecution at the drug trial, Ms. Lo Thi Hong Tham, Prosecutor, shared: At the trial, I combined the presentation of documents and visual evidence, and evaluated the behavior of each defendant using a mind map. On that basis, I indicted and debated to clarify the criminal behavior, analyzed and assessed the nature and level of danger to society as well as the aggravating and mitigating circumstances of the defendants' criminal responsibility and proposed appropriate punishments for each defendant.
Continuing to improve the quality of practicing the right to prosecute and supervise judicial activities in the field of drug-related crimes, Department 1 focuses on improving the rate of handling denunciations and reports of crimes, completing investigations, prosecutions and trials; ensuring the arrest, detention, temporary detention, prosecution, investigation, prosecution and trial of the right people, the right crimes, and the right law, avoiding injustice, mistakes and letting criminals escape.
