Prime Minister asks UNESCO to continue supporting Vietnam's heritage dossiers

UNESCO Director-General Andrey Azoulay highly appreciated Vietnam's role as a member of the World Heritage Committee; affirming Vietnam's increasingly high role, position and voice with UNESCO.

According to the special correspondent of VNA, on the occasion of attending the 3rd United Nations Ocean Summit (UNOC 3) in Nice, France, on June 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Director General of the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Andrey Azoulay.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure at meeting Director-General Azoulay again, affirming that Vietnam always appreciates the role and contributions of UNESCO in maintaining peace, security and promoting sustainable development in the world through promoting multilateral cooperation in education, culture, science , information and communication.

The Prime Minister congratulated Director-General Azoulay on UNESCO's recent achievements; thanked UNESCO for its support and cooperation with Vietnam over the past 50 years as well as the positive developments in the "comprehensive, substantive and effective" partnership between Vietnam and UNESCO.

UNESCO Director-General Andrey Azoulay highly appreciated Vietnam's role as a member of the World Heritage Committee; affirmed that with its increasingly high role and position, Vietnam's voice is very important to UNESCO; and hoped that Vietnam would continue to contribute to UNESCO.

General Director Azoulay expressed his desire to visit Vietnam again.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited the UNESCO Director-General to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time and hoped she would continue to support Vietnam's heritage dossiers./.
