Deputy Foreign Minister Le Anh Tuan received the Director of the Department of Legal Affairs, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On the morning of June 24, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Anh Tuan received Mr. Musikhin Maxim, Director of the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, on the occasion of the working delegation visiting Vietnam to attend the international law exchange program between the two legal departments of the two countries' Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Anh Tuan received Mr. Musikhin Maxim, Director of the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, on the occasion of the delegation's visit to Vietnam to attend the international law exchange program between the two legal departments of the two countries' Foreign Ministries.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan welcomed and highly appreciated the mechanism for exchanging information on international law between the two legal departments of the two foreign ministries . The Deputy Minister said that this is a mechanism for the two sides to learn about and share their positions and viewpoints on emerging international legal issues; thereby seeking the possibility of coordinating positions at multilateral legal mechanisms such as the International Law Commission (ILC), Committee 6, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and legal document negotiation conferences.

Affirming Vietnam's importance in the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan wishes to continue maintaining and strengthening cooperation with Russia in various fields for the common interests of the two countries.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the Vietnam-Russia relationship in recent times, and congratulated the Russian Federation on its achievements in socio -economic development under the leadership of President Putin and the direction and administration of the Russian Government, including the particularly important contributions of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between Russia, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and ASEAN.

On this occasion, the Deputy Minister expressed his sincere thanks to Russia for its strong and timely support for Vietnam's initiative to host the signing ceremony of the Convention against Cybercrime and asked Russia to continue supporting Vietnam in organizing the successful signing ceremony.

Mr. Musikhin Maxim, Director of the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam and discuss international legal issues of mutual interest. Mr. Musikhin Maxim emphasized that the Russian Federation supports Vietnam's initiative and affirmed its readiness to actively support Vietnam in organizing the signing ceremony of the Convention against Cybercrime.

The two sides agreed that it is necessary to continue maintaining a channel of exchange on international law between the two countries' legal departments of the two foreign ministries to share and exchange views and coordinate with each other at multilateral legal forums.

The international legal dialogue mechanism is an exchange mechanism between the Department of Law and International Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and specialized legal departments of foreign ministries to discuss legal issues of mutual interest. Up to now, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has had regular consultation channels with Australia, Russia, Japan, Laos and has organized consultations with a number of other partners such as Germany and Switzerland.
