Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang works with Ambassadors of Francophone countries

On the morning of July 18, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang received Moroccan Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi, Swiss Ambassador Thomas Gass and had a phone call with Senegalese Ambassador to Malaysia and concurrently to Vietnam Abdoulaye Barro.

During the discussions and working sessions, Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang expressed his delight at the positive developments in the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Senegal, Morocco, and Switzerland in all fields in recent times; highly appreciated the coordination, preparation, and support of the Ambassadors for the working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, along with his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the 6th International Conference of Speakers of Parliament (IPU) in Switzerland; conducted bilateral activities in Switzerland; and paid official visits to Morocco and Senegal from July 22-30, 2025.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that this working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man demonstrates Vietnam's respect for the IPU as well as its traditional cooperative relations with Senegal, Morocco, and Switzerland, especially all three countries are members of the Francophonie Community.

Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang hoped that the working trip would achieve substantial results, especially in trade, investment, agriculture, sustainable development, innovation, creating a premise to deepen the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Senegal, Morocco, and Switzerland, bringing practical benefits to each country, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world; he asked the Ambassadors to continue to promote and closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and agencies of the National Assembly, relevant ministries and branches to carefully prepare, ensuring the success of the visit of the National Assembly Chairman.

The Ambassadors of Senegal, Morocco and Switzerland thanked Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang for taking the time to meet them; agreed with the Deputy Minister's assessment of the bilateral relationship; affirmed that Senegal, Morocco and Switzerland attach importance to the working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man this time; believed that the visit would be a new milestone in relations with the countries, an opportunity to open up new areas of cooperation, contributing to promoting exchanges between Vietnamese localities and other countries.

The Ambassadors agreed to continue to closely coordinate with agencies and units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Assembly agencies of the two countries and relevant ministries and branches to promote and carefully prepare for the National Assembly Chairman's working trip, ensuring the success of the working trip.
