In front of the José Martí monument, Deputy Minister Gerardo Peñalver Portal and delegates solemnly offered flowers in memory of the great thinker, cultural figure and revolutionary leader of Cuba.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Viet Thao expressed his honor to commemorate José Martí right in the capital Hanoi, recalling that nearly 150 years ago, José Martí wrote about Vietnam with deep affection. He emphasized that José Martí was not only the leader of the Cuban people but also a great friend of the Vietnamese people, who left behind teachings on international solidarity, on the struggle for national independence and the happiness of the working people.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Viet Thao, throughout the revolutionary journey, the people of the two countries have always stood shoulder to shoulder, ready to share every pill and grain of rice in difficult times. José Martí’s thoughts continue to illuminate that solidarity, so that Vietnam and Cuba will always accompany each other, sharing both achievements and challenges on the path of nation building.
"We would like to send to the Cuban people our solidarity and companionship in all circumstances and we will definitely achieve final victory," Mr. Thao affirmed.
