Collecting 20k/month from each student for drinking water, the school has a surplus of nearly 200 million

According to the conclusion of the inspection of the head's responsibility in implementing anti-corruption regulations at Nguyen Thai Son Primary School issued by the Inspectorate of District 3 (HCMC), in 2022, this school collected drinking water fees from students at 18,000 VND/student/month. By 2023, the fee will increase to 20,000 VND/student/month (the maximum according to regulations).

Total revenue from drinking water in 2022 is 324.6 million VND. Meanwhile, the school only spent 254.1 million VND, with a remaining balance of 145 million. By 2023, the school collected 347.2 million VND from drinking water but only spent 306.6 million VND.

Together with the previous year's balance, the remaining drinking water bill is 185.5 million VND.

District 3 Inspectorate said that for drinking water revenue, Nguyen Thai Son Primary School did not adjust according to the principle of "collecting enough to cover expenses", leading to the remaining balance of 185.5 million VND at the end of the school year while the balance at the beginning of the year was 145 million.

In addition, according to the inspector, Nguyen Thai Son Primary School still has some shortcomings such as: not implementing the financial disclosure deadline in the fourth quarter of 2022, spending the reward fund incorrectly "spending on purchasing tools to participate in the district-level Red Cross competition", vouchers for health check-ups, purchasing uniform fabric, visiting families with meritorious services are not shown in the internal spending regulations, not fully implementing the work of receiving, managing, reporting and publicizing the funding source of "air conditioners" donated by the Parents' Association in previous years; not conducting bidding for canteen rental...

District 3 Inspectorate requested the school principal to chair and organize a review meeting to draw lessons for individuals with violations; implement an anti-corruption plan; and publicize finances...
