La Gi Town: Effectively mobilizing resources for infrastructure development investment in the period 2021 - 2025

Over the past 5 years, La Gi town (Binh Thuan province) has made remarkable progress in socio-economic infrastructure, thanks to the effective mobilization and proper use of investment resources. In the period of 2021 - 2025, the total capital mobilized for infrastructure development in the area reached 9,221 billion VND, an increase of 125% compared to the previous term. This is an impressive figure, demonstrating great determination in gradually building La Gi into a modern, civilized and sustainably developed urban area.

Of the total capital mentioned above, investment capital from the state budget accounts for 2,021 billion VND, the remaining 7,200 billion VND comes from non-budgetary sources. This shows the dynamism and creativity of the locality in attracting investment, especially resources from the private sector and enterprises. The implemented projects not only contribute to improving infrastructure, but also open up many development opportunities for key economic sectors such as trade, tourism, industry and services.

The notable point is that the budget capital is managed and used in accordance with regulations and principles, focusing on key projects such as: upgrading the inner-city traffic system, renovating inter-commune roads, investing in water supply and drainage systems, urban beautification, and developing new residential areas. Thanks to that, the appearance of La Gi urban area is increasingly changing towards green, clean, and beautiful; the infrastructure is spacious and synchronous; the living conditions of the people are constantly improved.

In parallel, La Gi also focuses on social infrastructure development projects, such as building schools, medical facilities, cultural and sports centers, parks and public spaces. These projects not only serve the needs of the people but also create highlights for the city, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of local people. Not only focusing on infrastructure development, La Gi also pays special attention to improving the material and spiritual life of the people. Programs to support employment, vocational training, health andeducation development have been widely implemented, helping people have access to better services and improve their income. Thanks to that, the poverty rate has decreased significantly, cultural and spiritual life has been improved, creating a harmonious and sustainable society. It can be affirmed that the results of mobilizing and effectively using investment resources in the past 5 years are an important foundation for La Gi to continue to make breakthroughs on the journey to become a city in the near future. The clear change in infrastructure is a testament to the strategic vision and the strong, flexible leadership of the Party Committee, the government and the consensus of all the people of La Gi town.

However, in addition to the achievements, La Gi also faces many challenges. In particular, economic growth is still not stable, productivity, quality and competitiveness of the economy are still weak. The value of industrial production is still low, exploiting potential and advantages still faces many difficulties. Economic restructuring is still slow, especially the development of urban infrastructure is not synchronous, digital infrastructure has not kept up with the requirements, has not met the speed of urbanization; some criteria for type III urban areas have not been completed as planned, the urbanization rate is still low compared to the set targets. State management of land, minerals, construction order, urban order is present, sometimes limited. The political security and social order and safety situation still has many potential complications. The implementation of digital transformation has initially achieved results but the efficiency is not high, the rate of online records generation and processing has not met the required rate. The study and implementation of the Party's directives and resolutions sometimes and in some places have not met the requirements. The leadership capacity and fighting strength of some grassroots Party organizations are still limited; the qualifications and capacity of some cadres, civil servants and public employees have not yet met the requirements of the task. To continue promoting its role as one of the growth drivers of the province, La Gi needs to focus on developing key economic sectors such as tourism, logistics services, and processing industry, while promoting the application of science and technology and improving the quality of human resources.
