In 6 months, Quang Ninh welcomed more than 12 million visitors

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province has just issued report No. 1974/BC-SVHTTDL on socio-economic development in the fields of culture, sports and tourism in the first 6 months of 2025, directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

In the first 6 months of 2025, closely following the directions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province have achieved many positive results. In particular, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue 13 plans and 03 decisions to direct the implementation of tasks; issued 38 work plans to organize the implementation of typical tasks.

Regarding cultural heritage, in the first 6 months of the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has guided the inventory, organized the Appraisal Council and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval 04 inventory relics to be added to the List of historical - cultural relics and scenic spots in Quang Ninh province. The work of opening to welcome visitors at museums is implemented every day of the week, the number of visitors from January to June 20, 2025 is nearly 370 thousand, earning more than 10 billion VND.

In addition, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has implemented many Exhibition - Education and Communication activities such as: Completing the thematic exhibition "95 years of glorious tradition of the Communist Party of Vietnam"; Successfully organizing the exhibition of the Ethnic Culture at the Planning Palace; Completing the Exhibition of 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art and Quang Ninh province after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the Photo Exhibition on outstanding achievements of Quang Ninh province after 70 years of the liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025); Completing the coordination with the Provincial Journalists Association to exhibit 100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025)...

In the field of sports, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province focuses on developing high-performance sports to affirm its position, worthy of the position of Quang Ninh province. In the first 6 months of the year, the Decision was issued to send 19 delegations of athletes to participate in national sports competitions; Advise on the implementation of procedures for coaches and athletes of the Sports Training and Competition Center to participate in training and competition abroad: Asian Youth Pencak Silat Championship in Kashmir-India in 2025; Pencak Silat coaches and athletes to participate in advanced training in Thailand; Athletes to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian Rowing Championship and Youth Championship in Thailand; Asian Canoeing Championship 2025 in China; Issued a Decision to send 02 coaches and 17 athletes from the Sports Training and Competition Center to participate in the national team and national youth team in the following sports: Volleyball, rowing, archery, shooting, Pencak silat, athletics, fencing, wushu, weightlifting, vovinam;

Coordinate with the Department of Physical Training and Sports to successfully host the 2025 National Excellent Archery Championship at the Quang Ninh Provincial Sports Complex, Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City; Implement the contents of organizing the 2025 National Second Division Football Tournament, Group A, held at Cam Pha City Stadium; Advise on drafting a Resolution, a draft Impact Assessment Report, a draft status report on the Resolution on Regulations on the content and specific expenditure levels in the field of sports in Quang Ninh province, submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.

In the tourism sector, along with consulting and issuing documents, the province's tourism activities have improved a lot. Tourists in June 2025 are estimated to reach 2,000,000 arrivals, reaching 105% of the same period in 2024, reaching 100% of the target of Plan 19/KH-UBND. Of which, domestic visitors are estimated to reach 1,620,000 arrivals; international visitors are estimated to reach 380,000 arrivals. Overnight visitors in June are estimated to reach 1,200,000 arrivals (reaching 107% of the same period in 2024). Total tourism revenue in June is estimated to reach 5,980 billion VND (reaching 133% of the same period in 2024, reaching 121% of the target of Plan 19/KH-UBND).

The cumulative number of tourists in the first 6 months is estimated at 12,080,000, reaching 116% of the same period in 2024, reaching 112% of the growth scenario. Of which, domestic visitors in the first 6 months are estimated at 9,805,000; international visitors in the first 6 months are estimated at 2,275,000. Total revenue in the first 6 months is estimated at VND 29,140 billion (reaching 131% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 107% compared to the growth scenario).

In the last 6 months of the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to continue to maintain the achievements that have been made, while striving to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Specifically, regarding heritage management. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to coordinate with agencies and units to advise on the implementation of UNESCO's responses to the Scientific Dossier of the Complex of Monuments and Landscapes of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac submitted to UNESCO for recognition as a World Heritage Site; Develop a Resolution on mechanisms and policies to support the conservation and promotion of cultural heritages in ethnic minority areas, teaching, club activities, festivals, cultural facilities; Implement the Law on Cultural Heritage; Complete and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for promulgation the Plan for establishing cultural heritage dossiers (dossier for ranking relics at all levels, dossiers of intangible cultural heritages included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages, dossiers for proposal for recognition of national treasures) for the period 2026-2028; Complete and submit to the Provincial People's Committee the plan for archaeological excavation for the period 2025-2028.

Regarding physical education and sports management, coordinate, manage, supervise, and strengthen inspection of the organization of sports activities and sports tournaments in the province; organize athlete delegations to participate in national sports tournaments; manage activities, procedures for delegations to leave, and report results of sports delegations participating in training and competitions abroad; organize swimming and rescue training courses, and specialized sports courses according to plan; organize provincial-level sports competitions.

Complete the Project to participate in the 10th National Sports Congress - 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City; Develop a plan to merge the Sports School with the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center.

Direct the Sports Training and Competition Center and the Sports School to strive to complete and exceed the medal target at national sports tournaments in 2025; focus on improving training quality to maintain stable achievements in strong sports. Prepare well the force to participate in major tournaments, aiming for the Sports Congress and international arenas in the next period; Coordinate with localities in the province to organize the selection of talented athletes across the province, ensuring enough athletes are recruited; Organize training and coaching; regularly check and evaluate to select athletes with high qualities, abilities, and achievements to transfer to the youth team and provincial team.

Regarding tourism promotion activities, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to focus on implementing the following activities: Providing and supporting tourism information directly at the office, via call center, hotline and electronic website, email, social network SNS; Maintaining the activities of building and posting information about Quang Ninh tourism on websites, fanpages, Youtube, Instagram; Providing information and supporting tourists directly at the office of the Center for Culture, Information and Tourism Promotion; providing information online on the electronic information website and social network managed by the Center.

Continue to coordinate with the EATOF Communications Secretariat to edit and publish media articles promoting cultural and tourism events of Quang Ninh on the website and social networks of EATOF and Clipperace.

Participate in activities: Booth at Hanoi Autumn Festival; Bac Ninh Ceramics and Traditional Craft Village Tourism and Culture Week 2025; Specialized tourism events organized by Vietnam Tourism Association; ITE -HCMC International Tourism Fair 2025; Booth at Vietnam - China International Tourism Trade Fair (Mong Cai - Dong Hung) 2025. Organize the Program to introduce culinary culture and honor good chefs of Quang Ninh in 2025.
