At this time, many universities in Ho Chi Minh City announced the results of additional admissions, with scores in majors equivalent to the standard scores in the official admission round.

According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , after the end of the first round of enrollment, universities in need can enroll additional rounds lasting from September to December.

However, up to now, many universities in Ho Chi Minh City have stopped recruiting additional students even though they have not yet met their enrollment targets, due to not having the desired good results.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry recruits 205 additional students for 6 training majors at Quang Ngai Branch.

At the end of the supplementary admission round, the school only recruited more than 20 students. Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City Open University recruited about 70 students in the supplementary admission round, still lacking about 100 students. Van Lang University recruited about 1,000 students, while the quota was 1,500.

In many non-public schools, the number of quotas for this additional recruitment round is quite large, some schools recruit up to thousands of students. However, in this additional recruitment round, the number of applications for admission is also much lower than the quota. These schools still extend the additional recruitment period until the end of September and October.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this year, the whole country has more than 733,600 candidates registering for university entrance exams, of which more than 673,500 students have been admitted and recorded on the Ministry's system.

At the end of the first admission confirmation period, 551,479 candidates confirmed their admission online, thus, more than 122,100 candidates were admitted but did not enroll.

Representatives of many schools said that this situation was predicted, because in reality for many years, during the additional admission period, the school did not receive many applications.

Determining that there are not many more candidates for this additional recruitment round, many schools decided not to consider additional recruitment even though they have not recruited enough.

According to admissions experts, most of the candidates who registered for university admission were admitted in the previous official round. At this time, most of the candidates who were not admitted have chosen another learning environment or gone to work.

Only a few candidates were admitted but not in their favorite major so they did not enroll but will find opportunities in the additional admission round.

However, in the context of high university tuition fees as it is today, students should carefully consider choosing the right major and level of study, not going to university at all costs./.

The Ministry of Education and Training announced that it will continue to open the System to facilitate candidates to complete admission confirmation procedures before 5:00 p.m. on August 31.
