From July 1, 2025, the two-level local government (provincial and communal levels) will operate nationwide. After the merger, Ho Chi Minh City (including Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province, and the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) will have a strong increase in the scale of schools and the number of preschool and high school students. Ho Chi Minh City has only about 3,500 schools from preschool to high school.
After July 1, 2025, the two-level local government will be applied nationwide, no longer at the district/county level. Parents hope that the names of wards/communes and provinces/cities after the merger will be updated and adjusted accurately on school nameplates as well as official channels such as websites and fanpages of educational institutions.
This is convenient for information capture. Parents and students are also convenient in the process of contacting for work, working, and at the same time creating synchronization throughout the province/city. Because there may be a situation in the same province/city where there are many school names at the same level that are identical. Therefore, parents need to know exactly which ward/commune the school is located in to distinguish.
