Ho Chi Minh City cooperates in consuming Bac Giang lychee

The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op) has just organized a series of activities to sign, purchase, and bring Luc Ngan litchi to the system of 800 points of sale nationwide, through the program "Journey of Happiness" taking place at Co.opmart Bac Giang supermarket (Bac Giang).

At the "Journey of Happiness" program in Bac Giang , with outstanding activities such as: traditional Quan Ho singing exchange, promoting local OCOP products and businesses, signing cooperation agreements for Luc Ngan litchi consumption, Saigon Co.op identified this as the biggest activity in 2025 to connect and join customers in setting a record for the online Vietnam map with 50,000 happy photos taken with the National Flag.

In order to accompany lychee farmers and bring quality lychees at good prices to consumers nationwide, Saigon Co.op plans to bring lychees to more than 800 points of sale nationwide, with output increasing by 20% over the same period. Not only fresh lychees, Saigon Co.op also sells lychee-based products that can be preserved and used for a long time.

Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op Nguyen Ngoc Thang said: “With a nationwide network and millions of trusted customers, Saigon Co.op is not only a purely Vietnamese retail brand but also a symbol of national pride, solidarity and creativity to serve the interests of the community. To support the best consumption of lychee, Saigon Co.op also organizes promotional programs, introduces lychee throughout the entire distribution system; coordinates with a number of media agencies to implement programs to stimulate demand for Vietnamese agricultural products…”.

Attending the event, Chairman of the Bac Giang Province Cooperative Union Nguyen Duc Hien shared: “Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon Co.op in particular are important bridges bringing high-quality OCOP products and agricultural products closer to consumers. In Bac Giang, from 2018 to present, Ho Chi Minh City and Saigon Co.op have regularly consumed thousands of tons of lychee from the direct growing areas of Luc Ngan district, contributing significantly to creating momentum for local economic development, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers”.

The program "Journey of Happiness" took place at Co.opmart Bac Giang Supermarket, setting a record for an online map of Vietnam with 50,000 photos.

On this occasion, Saigon Co.op and Toan Thang Bac Giang Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative signed a contract to consume Luc Ngan lychee.

Within the framework of the program at Co.opmart Bac Giang, hundreds of customers participated in cultural and artistic activities and interacted with Quan Ho "lien anh lien chi", contributing to the commitment of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces in particular and Vietnam in general to UNESCO in preserving and effectively promoting the Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Songs.
