Thai Nguyen: Building a solid foundation for the new school year

GD&TĐ - Thai Nguyen has been completing the final stages to prepare for the new school year 2025-2026.

Stable school network, invested facilities

By the end of the 2024–2025 school year, Thai Nguyen province has 975 educational institutions, including 351 kindergartens, 263 primary schools, 287 secondary schools, 51 high schools, 15 vocational education and continuing education centers, 2 continuing education centers, and 6 centers to support the development of inclusive education. In addition, there are 102 independent children's groups operating effectively.

Compared to the previous school year, Thai Nguyen merged 22 schools into 11 schools and reduced 41 separate schools, leaving 694 schools.

In preparation for the new school year 2025-2026, educational institutions in the area have proactively repaired and renovated facilities, ensuring safety in teaching and learning. The purchase and addition of teaching equipment was implemented early.

At Phan Dinh Phung Kindergarten, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, preparations have been completed.

Ms. Chu Thi Bich Ngoc - Principal of the School shared: The school has cleaned, decorated classrooms and prepared enough supplies and toys to welcome about 525 students, including about 20 children from the old Bac Kan who moved back after the administrative boundary merger.

At Quang Chu Kindergarten, Cho Moi Commune, facilities were also invested in during the summer. The school built a new building with 12 rooms (including classrooms and functional rooms), a security house, repaired 2 classrooms, 1 warehouse, 1 kitchen, and built a new fence and cemented the entire school yard.

“With timely investment, the new school year will start in much more favorable conditions than before, especially with classrooms being repaired and upgraded,” said Vice Principal Nguyen Thi Hue.

Ready for the new school year

The 2025-2026 school year is a year of special significance as the Opening Ceremony is associated with the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training). In preparation for this event, the Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training has issued many documents directing and guiding educational institutions to carefully prepare in terms of facilities, ceremonies and program content.

As planned, the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year will be held simultaneously across the country on the morning of September 5, 2025, from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. Schools will hold the opening ceremony directly at their units; then, from 8:00 a.m., the entire industry will participate in the general online opening ceremony program. Up to now, preparations at schools have been basically completed, ensuring that the opening ceremony is held solemnly, safely and on schedule.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen province said: Along with preparing facilities, the Department of Education and Training also pays special attention to training and professional development for managers, teachers and staff.

During the summer, training courses were organized with key contents such as: improving management capacity, innovating testing and assessing primary school students' capacity, implementing 2-session teaching/day, applying artificial intelligence (AI) in management and teaching...

Schools in the province have completed enrollment, class division, and teaching assignments for teachers, while developing and adjusting educational plans according to the instructions of the Ministry and the Department of Education and Training.

Everything has been carefully prepared, aiming for a smooth start to the new school year and achieving comprehensive educational quality.

With careful and synchronous preparation from the management level to each school, the education sector of Thai Nguyen province is ready to enter the 2025-2026 school year with a new mindset and new expectations. The attention of authorities at all levels, the support of the social community, and the proactive and creative spirit of the teaching staff will be a solid foundation for Thai Nguyen to continue to reap success in the career of "growing people".
