Focus on developing key industrial sectors and products with unique features

On the morning of July 11, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee Dao My worked with the Department of Industry and Trade on the organization and implementation of the unit's tasks after the merger, and the expected work program of the industry and trade sector until the end of 2025.

After the merger and reorganization, the Department of Industry and Trade has 4 departments (Office, Trade Management Department, Industrial Management Department, Energy Management Department); 1 unit under the Department (Market Management Department) and 1 public service unit under the Department (Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion Center). The Department currently has 200 civil servants, public employees and workers.

To organize activities immediately after the reorganization, the Department of Industry and Trade arranged and organized working headquarters, provided equipment for civil servants and public employees; assigned leadership tasks for the Department; assigned work to civil servants, public employees and employees of the Department and received 24 civil servants of the old Phu Yen Department of Industry and Trade to work.

After the merger, the main industrial products of Dak Lak province increased by 4 products, currently the whole province has 34 main industrial products. There are currently 6 industrial parks (IPs) in operation in Dak Lak province, including: Hoa Phu IP, An Phu IP, Dong Bac Song Cau IP - Region 1, Dong Bac Song Cau IP - Region 2 and 2 IPs located in Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone.

In addition, the province has 22 industrial clusters (ICs) with a land area of ​​1,011.5 hectares, attracting 202 operating projects, registered for investment with a total investment capital of about VND 8,771.7 billion, with an occupancy rate of about 60.6%.

Since the beginning of the year, the total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at nearly VND 92,742 billion (up 16% over the same period last year, reaching 50.8% of the yearly plan), export turnover is more than 1.5 billion USD (reaching 68% of the plan, up 28.7% over the same period in 2024).

The industry and trade sector's target by the end of 2025 is for the industrial production index to increase by 10%; total retail sales of goods and service revenue to increase by 9.4%; total exports to reach more than 2.2 billion USD, up 0.6% compared to 2024.

At the meeting, the Department of Industry and Trade proposed and recommended to the Provincial People's Committee solutions to remove difficulties in industrial production activities, develop industrial parks; build technical infrastructure for industrial parks; manage and develop the energy industry and support the promotion of domestic trade, import and export...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My suggested that in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade should soon stabilize the organization and apparatus, complete related administrative procedures so that all activities can operate smoothly; review the activities of the industry, in which it is necessary to synthesize and integrate information and data fully from both the East and the West to clearly see the comprehensive picture of the industry and trade sector. From there, identify advantageous industries, key products, with unique features to develop in order to increase the value of industrial products, create jobs for workers, and increase budget revenue.

In addition, the industry and trade sector needs to assess the current status of industrial parks and industrial clusters, unify policies, organize development space, complete infrastructure for industrial production; review and compile a list of energy projects, power supply projects and point out obstacles and difficulties of each project to find solutions to remove them and put the project into operation soon. At the same time, ensure environmental protection in industrial production activities.
