Lotte Group donates 3 billion VND to help overcome the consequences of typhoon Yagi in Vietnam

18 member companies of LOTTE Group in Vietnam have jointly donated 3 billion VND through the Fatherland Front to localities affected by storm No. 3, demonstrating their commitment to supporting the community in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and restoring people's lives.

The recent Typhoon Yagi has affected 26 localities, leaving behind serious damage, with more than 300 people dead and missing, about 260,000 houses damaged, and economic impacts of nearly VND50,000 billion, according to preliminary estimates by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development . In order to join hands with the Vietnamese Government and the community to promptly support the people of the northern provinces, LOTTE Group and its member units, typically LOTTE Department Store, LOTTE Mall West Lake Hanoi, LOTTE Mart, LOTTE E&C, LOTTE Hotels, and LOTTE Rental, LOTTE Chemical, Daehong Communications, have recently contributed VND3 billion to disaster relief.

LOTTE Group and representatives of member enterprises donated 1.6 billion VND through the representative of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Hanoi .

On September 25 and 26, at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, LOTTE Group and representatives of its member companies donated VND1.6 billion from 10 member companies in Hanoi and VND1.1 billion from 9 member companies in Ho Chi Minh City to the disaster relief fund through representatives of the VFF in each locality. In addition, VND300 million will be donated to other localities with LOTTE investment projects such as Quang Ninh and Binh Duong.

LOTTE Group representative donated 1.1 billion VND through the representative of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City.

Since its establishment in Vietnam in 1996, LOTTE Group has continuously expanded its investment and actively participated in community activities. In 2020, LOTTE donated VND3.7 billion to support Vietnam in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Then, in 2021, the group donated VND10 billion to the Vietnamese Government's vaccine fund, contributing to accelerating the vaccination progress nationwide. A highlight of LOTTE's social responsibility activities is the TV program "Young Players", which has been continuously deployed for the past 14 years, aiming to discover and train young Vietnamese football talents. The second version of the program was launched last month.

In 2023, LOTTE marked an important milestone with the opening of LOTTE Mall West Lake Hanoi, a modern commercial, service and entertainment complex, not only bringing a new shopping experience to the capital's residents but also creating thousands of jobs for local workers.

A representative of LOTTE Group in Vietnam shared: “We would like to express our deepest condolences to the families affected by the storm. As a group that has been associated with Vietnam for nearly 3 decades, we not only focus on business but are always ready to join hands with the community to overcome difficulties. With the spirit of solidarity and continuous efforts, we believe that Vietnam will soon overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters, moving towards a better future.”

LOTTE Group also commits to continue maintaining social activities in the future, creating positive changes in many fields, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam.
