Creating the premise for the goal of building a learning society

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Along with the "Learning Family" model, throughout the process of building and developing, the Association for the Promotion of Learning (AEL) at all levels, the education sector, local Party committees and authorities have always attached importance to and promoted the movement of building a "Learning Family" (DHHT) towards the goal of successfully building a learning society (XHHT) from the grassroots.

In Thieu Ngoc commune (old), now Thieu Tien commune, with the advice of the commune's HKH, the commune's People's Committee successfully organized a meeting with 38 clan heads and clan councils in the whole commune. At this conference, the clan heads and clan councils contributed many good ideas on educating children and grandchildren, competing to unite families in the clan to help each other so that no one is left behind; rewarding and encouraging children with achievements in studying. Since then, the clans and branches in the commune have responded positively and effectively implemented the movement to encourage learning and talent (KH, KT) in the clan; the learning movement of children of the clans has spread more and more with many typical examples. In particular, the construction of the learning encouragement fund (QKH) in the clans in the commune has had a clear change. Typically, the QKH of the Ngo clan reached 750 million VND. Many families have endowments of 100 to 200 million VND or more, such as the families: Nguyen Duy, Nguyen Phuc, Nguyen Van, Le Xuan...

In other localities, with the dynamism and active participation of the clan council, many clans have aroused the learning movement in each individual and each family, thereby successfully building a DHHT model according to the Party and State's policies. For example, the Bui Sy and Le Ba clans in Tan Phong town, now Luu Ve commune; the Trinh Van clan in Dinh Tan commune; the Nguyen Trong clan in Ha Linh town, now Tong Son commune... Settling in Luu Ve commune since the 16th century, the Bui Sy clan has soon affirmed itself as a clan with a tradition of solidarity, mutual love, especially the tradition of mandarin examinations and the studious spirit of many generations. Promoting that tradition, the Bui Sy clan soon established a learning promotion committee with the purpose of encouraging and taking care of the learning of family and clan members. Since its establishment in 1997, the family's education promotion committee has had many practical activities such as supporting and granting scholarships to descendants in the family with difficult circumstances to excel in their studies; rewarding and encouraging students who have achieved achievements in studying and training... Thanks to that, for decades, the Bui Sy family has had no descendants who have dropped out of school, and those in difficult circumstances have received timely support.

Or like the Duong family in Thieu Duong ward (old), now Ham Rong ward, to promote the tradition of learning of their ancestors, each branch established a learning promotion committee to carry out the construction of a "Learning family", DHHT, responding to the construction of a learning society. Along with the propaganda and encouragement of descendants to strive to compete in studying, the family learning promotion committee has launched families, actively calling on philanthropists and successful descendants in the family to contribute to building QKH. Up to now, the QKH of the branches and the Duong family council has a balance of over 600 million VND. Every year, in addition to organizing the distribution of rewards to the children in each branch, the family learning promotion committee also organizes a ceremony to honor children with high academic achievements, winning prizes in national and international competitions, children passing university entrance exams, successfully defending their doctoral theses... The timely encouragement of the family learning promotion committee has helped the children in the family compete to strive to become more and more successful. Accordingly, many families have children who study well and are successful, such as Duong Tien Hoa's family, whose two children both passed the entrance exam to Lam Son High School for the Gifted; Duong Tien Anh successfully defended his doctoral thesis in pharmacy at the age of 28; Duong Tien Quang Huy won the third prize in the international Biology exam; many people successfully defended their doctoral theses...

In fact, when a clan has a movement to encourage learning, it is more convenient to launch a lifelong learning movement and build a learning society. And when the clan learning movement develops strongly, with many clans achieving the title of learning society, there will be many learning communities, learning communities... contributing to accelerating the process of building a learning society. According to statistics from the provincial People's Committee, currently the number of clans in the whole province registering to build learning societies is 10,374/11,149, reaching a rate of 93.05%. The results of the review and assessment in 2024 show that nearly 9,000 clans in the whole province have been recognized as learning societies. This is considered an important premise and foundation to realize the goal of building a learning society from the grassroots level according to the policies set forth by the Party and the State.
