In a quick report to the Board of Directors of the Department of Health on the morning of June 10, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of Children's Hospital 1 and Dr. Trinh Nhat Thu Huong, Head of the Department of Prenatal Care, Tu Du Hospital, said that due to the flight's late departure (3 hours later than planned), it landed at 10:00 p.m. and arrived at the Singapore Maternity and Children's Hospital at nearly 11:30 p.m.

Here, Singaporean doctors warmly and friendly welcomed the delegation, and expressed their admiration and joy at the success of the fetal heart catheterization intervention of the two hospitals. Immediately after, the pregnant woman was taken to the recovery room for further monitoring and treatment.

The fetal cardiology intervention team of Tu Du Hospital and Children's Hospital 1 will continue to keep in touch with Singapore Maternity and Children's Hospital about the progress of the mother and fetus in the coming time.

Previously, on the afternoon of June 9, right after an online consultation between the fetal interventional cardiology team of Tu Du Hospital and Children's Hospital 1 and obstetricians and pediatricians of Singapore Maternity and Children's Hospital, the Department of Health approved doctors from Tu Du Hospital and Children's Hospital 1 to directly support the transfer of the pregnant woman to Singapore to hand over to Singapore Maternity and Children's Hospital.

As reported by SGGP Newspaper, on May 28, fetal intervention experts from Tu Du Hospital in collaboration with pediatric cardiovascular intervention experts from Children's Hospital 1 successfully intervened in a case of complex congenital heart defect from a 22-week-old fetus of a Singaporean mother. This is the 9th intervention case in Ho Chi Minh City, but is considered the most difficult because the fetus is very small (22 weeks old, weighing 600 grams) and the disease is particularly severe. The surgery has received attention from the world and domestic public, who highly appreciate the skills of the Vietnamese medical team. The team was awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in successfully performing this technique.
