Noi Bai Airport expected to set new record for flights and passenger volume on September 2

(QNgTV)- According to Noi Bai International Airport, the "air gateway" of the capital, is entering the final stage of preparation to serve a peak period that is expected to set a new record for both flights and passenger volume.

Noi Bai Airport is expected to welcome a record number of visitors on the occasion of National Day, September 2.

It is expected that the peak day will welcome nearly 110,000 passengers and 638 flights, about 20% higher than the same period in 2024. In particular, the number of international visitors is forecast to reach an all-time high, with some days reaching nearly 44,000 visitors.

To ensure absolute flight safety and smooth operations from now until September 2, Noi Bai International Airport has coordinated and agreed on flexible plans with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Northern Airport Authority, Air Traffic Management, airlines and ground units; thereby agreeing to maintain 24/7 duty at the Operations Coordination Center (AOCC).

Airlines proactively move aircraft parked overnight to neighboring airports to prioritize parking spaces for international delegations. At the same time, they proactively refuel incoming flights to prepare for situations of waiting flights due to operational reasons or extreme weather.

Regarding Noi Bai International Airport, implementing the decision of the Immigration Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) on applying enhanced aviation security control measures, Noi Bai International Airport and airports nationwide will tighten security work to ensure absolute safety of flight operations during the peak period of National Day, September 2.
