This information was confirmed by reputable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his X (Twitter) account this morning (June 29): "Jorge Jesus has agreed to become the new head coach of Al Nassr. The former coach of Al Hilal will be announced soon after the deal is completed. Ronaldo has also approved him as coach."
According to the Italian journalist, Ronaldo had a previous conversation with coach Jesus. Al Nassr Club also consulted the 40-year-old superstar before signing the contract.
Jesus will replace Stefano Pioli, who left the Saudi Pro League side by mutual consent. Pioli was also confirmed as Fiorentina's new coach shortly afterwards.
The new captain of Al Nassr, Jorge Jesus is a coach from Ronaldo's country. As a player, he played in the right midfielder position and also grew up in the training academy of Sporting Lisbon like CR7.
Although he had a relatively unblemished playing career, his coaching career was extremely outstanding. Coach Jesus led his teams to win 24 major and minor titles from Braga, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon in Portugal to Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Flamengo (Brazil) and Fenerbahce (Türkiye).
Coach Jesus, who helped Al Nassr's rivals Al Hilal set a Guinness World Record with a 34-match winning streak in all competitions, became a free agent after leaving the club last month, paving the way for him to join Al Nassr.
The appointment of a famous coach and the "green light" from Ronaldo shows Al Nassr's great ambition for the coming season.
