Ronaldo continues to stay at Al Nassr. |
After much speculation about his future, Cristiano Ronaldo has officially confirmed that he will continue to stay at Al Nassr, despite offers and speculation related to this summer's FIFA Club World Cup.
“The future? Nothing will change. Al Nassr? Yes. That will be the club I will continue to play for,” Ronaldo declared briefly but firmly.
This confirmation puts to rest rumours that he could move to Botafogo, Al Hilal or Monterrey, representatives participating in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022 after a controversial departure from Manchester United. Since then, he has become the most prominent star of the Saudi Pro League, not only in terms of his skills but also in terms of image and commerce.
Ronaldo’s decision to remain in Saudi Arabia shows that he remains committed to the journey of raising the level of Middle Eastern football. With his class and experience, he is not only a leader on the pitch but also a representative face that helps the tournament attract global attention.
In the context of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup being questioned about its fairness, especially after Lionel Messi's Inter Miami was awarded a place to participate despite not winning the MLS, Ronaldo's decision to stay at Al Nassr also partly helps him avoid unnecessary controversy.
At the age of 40, Ronaldo has shown no signs of slowing down. The 1985-born superstar has just scored his 138th goal for the national team, helping Portugal win their third title after defeating Spain in the Nations League final.
