Experts say that among the Porsche 911 models that peaked was the GT3 RS 4.0, as the top version of the beloved 997.2 in 2011. Limited to just 600 units worldwide , it was the first 911 to use a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine and the last GT3 RS to be offered with a six-speed manual transmission. Brand new 911 GT3 RS 4.0s don't come to market very often, but when they do, they attract a lot of attention. Earlier this year, one sold for €471,875, or about $554,000, at an auction in Paris, despite having covered 6,200 miles.
However, recently, an original car with only 319 miles (513 km) was sold in the US market for an astonishing price of $1,001,917 (equivalent to more than 27 billion VND). The seller of this car is asking for double that price. This GT3 RS 4.0 is for sale at Graham Rahal Performance in Zionsville, Indiana, with an asking price of $2,699,996. The car has only driven 341 miles since new, and unlike most 4.0s, it is not painted white.
In fact, this is one of 39 cars to feature Paint-to-Sample, a personalization program that ranges in price from a few hundred million to a billion dollars. While the car's GT Silver may not be a particularly striking shade in the automaker's expensive palette, it looks absolutely stunning. Contrasting the GT Silver paint is the GT3 RS 4.0's usual black graphics, complete with bright red accents. The car also gets black and red wing mirrors. It also sits on stunning black centerlock wheels, which are held up by yellow brake calipers. The interior is also beautifully designed and is fully equipped with black leather and Alcantara, red seat belts and red door handles. A plaque on the dashboard shows that this is car number 318 of 600 produced.
Notably, the original owner of this Porsche paid $216,210, equivalent to $308,990, meaning that despite being 14 years old, this car has been priced at a difference of $2.3 million, enough to buy many famous hypercars. Video : See the rare 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0.
